Steve Cowden
Steve grew up in northern California and attended Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo. Upon graduation, he struggled to find a job. After six months of searching while working in a pizza restaurant in Fresno, he got his first job as a newspaper artist in Orange County in 1987. Since that first job, Steve has enjoyed working on a variety of creative projects illustrating children’s books, painting oil portraits, animating short movies, designing beer labels, creating maps for National Geographic magazine and working on web sites. Presently, Steve works as an artist in the marketing department for the Port of Portland.
“I’m sort of a jack of all trades when it comes to visual story telling” he says. “ I certainly never get bored and I never say ‘no’ when a creative project is presented to me. I like the challenge”
